NURSES FOR THE GIRLS 2010:
Join last year's Largest Non-Profit Race Team and make this year's team even larger! Show your support for The Cure and Arkansas Nurses by joining our team and participating in the Race for the Cure. Saturday, October 16, 2010.
Last year we were honored to receive the Largest Not for Profit Team award in the 2009 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Thanks to all of you who came out to support The Cure and to show your support for Arkansas Nurses. In addition to the contribution you made to Susan G. Komen, money earned from the sale of Nurses for the Girls t-shirts and hoodies went to the ThinkNurse Scholarship Foundation and will again this year. We couldn't have won last year's award without your support. We have the momentum going into this year's race and we need your help to continue and build upon it. We want to have an even bigger turn out of Nurses for the Girls team members this year. If you're a nurse, a member of a nurse's family, or if you just want to show your support for nurses, we urge you to join our team. When you register online just select "Nurses for the Girls" as your race team. October 16, 2010, race day, will be here before we know it! Online registration will be open soon. We urge you to register at www.komenarkansas.org. And don't forget to select Nurses for the Girls as your team.
Our team captain, Jaime Alverson, has a new reason to participate and lead the fight for a cure since the birth of her beautiful daughter Sadie in May of this year. You may remember that Jaime lost her own mother to breast cancer at a very early age. Join new Mom Jaime again this year and let's create an even larger team to race for the Cure in Arkansas. You will be helping build breast cancer awareness and donating to scholarships for nurses who are so important for this fight.
We will have a new gathering place this year – the Nurses for the Girls Mobile RV Headquarters, near the start of the race. Be sure to come by and pick up your shirt. Watch for details at this site. You're going to love this year's awesome new Nurses for the Girls apparel!
